Practice and hone the skills learned in Level 1 with in-person expert guidance from the IAT team. 

This workshop builds upon the Level 1 training, and across three days provides for skills development in both identification and treatment of insecure attachment. Special consideration is given to the ways that unresolved trauma may affect the treatment process. The training takes the form of lecture, discussion, demonstration, and practice. By the end of this workshop, you will have the core skills to identify and effectively treat each of the attachment disturbances in adults.

Upcoming IAT Level 2 Trainings

11-13 March 2026: Lake Tegernsee, Germany

This is an in-person training led by the founders of Integrative Attachment Therapy, Dr David Elliott (USA) and Nigel Denning MA, MPsych (Australia). They will travel to Germany to personally facilitate the seminar. The training is supported by Stefan Passvogel, IAT trainer-in-training.

The training runs for three intensive days. It is delivered in English. Participants can also book AI-assisted simultaneous translation into German. The training is dialogical, experiential, and case-centred. The focus is clinical supervision, peer exchange, and refining therapeutic sensitivity across different attachment styles.

The venue is the Terrassenhof on Lake Tegernsee in Bad Wiessee. It sits directly by the water and is surrounded by mountains. It is a quiet setting that supports focused learning and clinical reflection.

Dr. Traill Dowie is a philosopher, academic, psychotherapist, martial artist and minister of religion. He holds PhDs in Philosophy and Psychiatry. He's an Associate Professor at Ikon Institute, devising psychotherapy training programs. Additionally, he's a research fellow at La Trobe University and a certified clinician with MAPS.
