Live Foundations Training

IAT Foundations is a 2-day live introductory training for clinicians, mental health professionals, trainees, and others interested in attachment-focused work who want to become familiar with the principles and practices of Integrative Attachment Therapy.

This training offers an overview of the IAT model and the clinical philosophy that underpins it. It is based on the understanding that insecure attachment is not pathology or mental illness. Rather, the self and relational patterns called “insecure” reflect attempts to cope with and adapt to painful early life experiences. IAT offers an effective and efficient approach to helping people resolve and heal attachment insecurity so that old adaptive patterns are no longer needed.

Delivered live in Los Angeles by IAT co-founders Dr David Elliott and Nigel Denning MA, MPsych, this training offers a rare opportunity to encounter the model in person through teaching, discussion, live demonstration, and shared reflection. Participants who attend the training will receive a 35% discount on the IAT Level 1 Online Training, making this a strong and practical starting point for those considering deeper study in the model.

This training is an introduction to the principles of IAT. It is not a training in which clinicians begin practising the full model. Level 1 is the foundational training for those who wish to begin applying IAT in clinical practice.

The aim of Foundations is to offer a clear, credible, and experience-near introduction to IAT, so clinicians can better understand the model and decide whether they wish to continue into deeper training.
